Bahrain.. Democratic choice and exclusion mechanisms – Al Bandar Report1

This report is an expose of a political conspiracy by government officials in Bahrain to stir up sectarian strife and marginalize the Shiite community. The plot’s supervisor and financier is allegedly Ahmed bin Atiyatallah Al Khalifa, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Head of the Central Information Agency, and member of the Al Khalifa royal family. This report was revealed in September 2006, issued by the Gulf Center for Democratic Development and written by Salah Al-Bandar, Advisor to the Minister of Cabinet Affairs. Following the report’s distribution, Bahraini police forcibly deported Salah to the United Kingdom, where he holds citizenship.
