Bahrain: how the Al Khalifa were defeated in their own courtroom
The circus which had been under preparation for weeks has backfired against the torturers, thanks to the presence of foreign journalists, human rights activists and diplomats.
Although the 23 Bahraini heroes had been warned of more torture if they spoke out at the court, one by one presented a glimpse of his ordeal to the charged audience. Even the diplomats did not expect to hear such vivid details of the ill-treatment of Bahrainis at the hands of their Al Khalifa enemies. What happened on 28th October has turned the whole case upside down. The world is now ready to listen to the ordeals of Bahrainis at the hands of the torturers, and steps in this direction have already begun. Bahrain will not be the same again, as more efforts are now directed at pursuing the torturers and genociders.
Suddenly the ruling family rushed to pass harsh sentences against many innocent Bahrainis. In the past few days the Al-Khalifa controlled judiciary passed prison sentences that will confirm the continued resentment and opposition to their despotic rule. It also aims to frighten the natives that opposition to the ruling family, in any form, will lead to cruel retribution and more bloody revenge. Today the high court sentenced four youths to seven years behind bars, after accusing them of burning tyres near Adhari resort.
They are: Hussain Abdulla Salman, 25 from Aa’li Town, Yousuf Ahmad Al Shughul, 18, from Aa’li Town, Hassan Radhi Al Baqqali, 22 from Jidhafs Housding and Saeed Al Ne’aimi, 18 from Jidhafs Housing. Five other youths in a case known as “Ras Rumman” were sentenced to five years in jail for burning tyres. Another young Bahrainis was sentenced yesterday to one year jail for allegedly distributing leaflets at one of the business malls in Manama. The leaflets called for an end to the emergency laws, a constitution written by the people and the release of the political prisoners.
A group of six youth from Al Malikiyya were sentenced to five years in jail without a due process of Law. They were targeted to become a lesson to others who may want to protest against the ongoing cruelty against the Shia natives, and were falsely accused of starting a fire at a local farm. They are: Ali Mohammad, Hussain Nasser, Sadiq Ali, Abdul Shahid Saleh, Faisal Salman and Ali Jaffar.
Parallel with these cruel sentences, attacks have continued on Shia towns and villages. One youth a young man was arrested in a farm near Karzakkan.
Qassim Mohammad Khalil was savagely beaten before being led away with blood pouring from various parts of his body. Yesterday, three children were seriously injured in the town of Samaheej when they were shot by members of the Death Squads, with shotguns and rubber bullets. The children who were: a girl aged four, a boy aged seven and a boy aged 10 were deliberately targeted by Death Squads, operating on orders from the royal court. The first two were injured with shotguns; the third with rubber bullets. They were taken to the emergency wing at Salmaniya Hospital. A fourth Bahraini man aged 35 was injured with a shotgun as he attempted to protect the children. This outrageous crime has shocked the locals who see it as part of the policy of genocide being implemented by the ruler.
Meanwhile the policy of terrorizing the Bahrainis has continued. Many houses in Sanabis were raided, ransacked and their inhabitants beaten and abused. One youth was beaten yesterday in a house near “the Zeera House” in the west of the town. The fate of Bahrainis under the Al Khalifa regime of hate and genocide is exemplified by what happened to a young detainee who happened to be in the way when members of Death Squads passed by.
Sayyed Ali Sayyed Musa of Markuban, Sitra was sitting with another detainee, Hassan Abdul Hussain and three others at a small stall in Sitra. Suddenly six full of Death Squads members stopped beside us and its occupants came out to terrorise us. They ordered us to go home. We started to move but one of them said: run.
When we started running they started shooting at us with their shotguns. Sayyed Ali and Hassan were hit and fell down. They were taken to hospital, and after treatment they were arrested. Later they were charged with “attacking” a security vehicle. Sayyed Ali Sayyed Moosa has confirmed that he had been tortured mercilessly. He was hanged for three days and ordered to remain standing day and night for several more days. This is the war being waged by the Al Khalifa against Bahrainis.
